A total of 16 teams from professional firms in and around Chester took part in a charity quiz night on 22nd October to raise funds for Nightingale House hospice.
The event - at Ye Olde Kings Head in Chester - was organised by McLintocks accountants and raised a total of £500 for the charity.

The winning team was from Aaron & Partners (pictured) who won the champagne first prize in a tie break.  Second was the Nat West team, third, Handelsbanken, and fourth, Walker Smith Way. Quizmaster for the evening was David Jones, a manager at McLintocks Chester office, and compère, Mike Caputo, chief executive of the firm.

There were five rounds of questions: Chester knowledge, TV themes, Sport, General Knowledge and Photographs. The tie break question was: ‘How long is the River Dee?” and the answer?  It is 68 miles, correctly answered by the winning team.

During the evening, Chris Andrews from Nightingale House spoke about the Hospice’s work and why fund raising was so important.  A total of £2.8m is required every year to run the hospice of which £2.2m has to be raised in the community.

Said Mike Caputo: “It was a fun evening with a serious purpose and we were delighted with the support from our fellow professionals in the Chester area for this important charity.  Thanks also go to our hosts at Ye Olde Kings Head who looked after us very well.”
