A team of 20 staff from SMD Group raised a total of £11,700.00 for Trinity Hospice by scaling the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in the space of 24 hours, smashing through their target of £10,000.

As part of the firm’s annual fundraising challenge, the group tackled Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon for the National Three Peaks Challenge, planting a flag made of iLiv fabric at the top of each peak.

Jason Kenworthy, CEO at SMD Group, said: “We’re always looking for ways to raise funds for such worthwhile charities, and this year was a new level with so many of our employees taking part.

“Trinity Hospice is close to the hearts of many at SMD and we felt it was important to really test ourselves to encourage people to sponsor us. The challenge itself was extremely difficult, but it was inspiring to see how determined and enthusiastic everyone was to get to the finishing point.

Trinity Hospice provides compassionate palliative and end of life care to adults and children from Blackpool and the Fylde Coast, helping around 8,000 local people every year.

SMD Group will also be making a donation to Boat House Youth, a charity which works with young people living in deprived areas of Blackpool.

Serving a network of retailers, international distributors and specialists in interior design, SMD Group is made up of a number of brands including iLiv, iLiv Contract Fabrics and SMD Home.
