Hair salon marks anniversary and raises nearly £4,000 for Tigerlily Trust

A POPULAR hair salon recently held a special open evening to mark their 10 year anniversary and to raise money for local charity, Tigerlily Trust.

Hair salon marks anniversary and raises nearly £4,000 for Tigerlily Trust

"We are only a small charity and every donation makes a huge difference and goes directly to help continue the valuable work we do."
Valerie Isherwood, founder of Tigerlily Trust

Guys N Dolls Hair Boutique, on Church Street in Lancaster, marked the milestone event by celebrating with supporters of the business, and raised a grand total of £3,810.

The salon chose to donate the money to Tigerlily Trust after the charity supported co-owner Evonne and her partner Alastair when their identical twin boys, Rupert and Charlie, were tragically stillborn.

Evonne said: “We can’t thank Tigerlily Trust enough for helping us through such a difficult time. We chose to support Tigerlily Trust for our fundraising evening due to the amazing work that Val does to help other families in our situation. The event was a huge success, we celebrated our 10 year anniversary surrounded by friends, family and clients, and we raised nearly £4,000 which is absolutely fantastic!”

The event was supported by a number of local businesses and supporters who donated raffle prizes. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed mini hair and beauty treatments, live music by the Panda Cups and drinks that were provided by Mint Cocktail Bar, who donated all proceeds to the charity and even made a special Tigerlily Trust cocktail.

Evonne added: “The evening had a very special buzz. The emotional reason behind the night made the atmosphere highly charged with love and generosity. It means everything to us that Rupert and Charlie’s legacy will go on to help so many families in the future.”

Valerie Isherwood, founder of Tigerlily Trust, was on hand throughout the evening to offer information about the services provided by the charity.

Valerie said: “I would like to thank everyone involved in making the event such a successful evening and for all the kindness, generosity and support. We are only a small charity and every donation makes a huge difference and goes directly to help continue the valuable work we do.”

Tigerlily Trust was established in 2012 after Valerie’s daughter Lily was stillborn. The charity provides support and resources for bereaved families locally and also holds an annual Remembrance Celebration.
