Aaron & Partners supports landmark creation of machinery hire and sales giant

""

A team of experts from Chester-based legal firm Aaron & Partners has played a key role in a landmark deal that has seen the creation of one of the UK’s largest machinery hire and sales companies.

Working on behalf of mobile recycling equipment firm CRJ Services – a long-standing client of Aaron & Partners – the team helped to secure the purchase of Matpro Machinery.

With a hire fleet of over 75 units and 17 engineers, CRJ Services provides hire equipment to the organic, wood, waste management and material handling industries from its headquarters in Knutsford, Cheshire.

Glasgow-based Matpro Machinery is a distributor for world-class machinery brands such as Haas, Backers, CRS and Steelweld. The deal means Matpro has now become the sole distributor for Haas and Steelweld Enviro products across the UK and Ireland.

“This is an exciting deal that brings together a combination of world-class hire, sales and services companies,” said Mark Briegal, Partner at Aaron & Partners LLP.

“We’re pleased to have presided over such an important transaction for the materials processing industry and we believe the complementary nature of this deal will give both companies the opportunity to grow and thrive.”

Cheshire accountancy firm Howard Worth also acted on behalf of CRJ, whilst London-based law firm Fieldfisher helped to facilitate the sale on behalf of Matpro.

Lee Carter, Director at CRJ Services, said: “We’re delighted to have concluded this deal and our ongoing relationship with Aaron & Partners has been a critical component in helping us secure this significant acquisition.

“This new partnership will mean that both CRJ Services and Matpro Machinery are equipped to offer more enhanced services and to meet customer demands more efficiently.

“With an extension of our spare parts availability and staff resources across a larger footprint, I am confident that we will be able to offer unparalleled service within our industry.”

Both CRJ and Matpro will continue to trade under their existing names but plan to share their resources to better serve customers across the UK and Ireland. Plans for additional sites have now been prioritised with a particular focus on opening a new base in London.
