SAS Daniels to launch specialist agricultural law practice

""

North West law firm SAS Daniels has today announced the launch of its new agricultural law practice, offering a range of legal expertise to the North West’s farming and agri-business community.

The new practice area features experts from across SAS Daniels’ four offices in the region who can advise on matters ranging from business succession, constitutional issues, planning through to buying and selling farms and dealing with disputes between family members that can be particularly sensitive.

The SAS Daniels team has many years’ collective experience of representing clients in this sector, and recognises the need for a specialist legal service in the region to support the farming community. SAS Daniels’ agricultural experience spans family law, commercial and business issues, dispute resolution, commercial and residential property, renewable energy, wills, estate administration and probate.

The team will be headed up by Associate, James Goddard who acts on behalf of clients in the agricultural sector on property related issues, including agricultural tenancies, easements, options and promotion agreements and sales and purchases of farms and rural properties.

James, who is based in SAS Daniels’ Chester office said:

“Certain parts of our region, such as Cheshire, North Wales and Staffordshire have a large agricultural community with its own specific business challenges, requiring specialist legal expertise. Our team of legal experts is equipped to offer practical and cost-effective advice to this community on a variety of issues such as agricultural tenancies, advice on diversification, agri-business activities and even complex farming divorce cases.”

SAS Daniels is a member of the Agricultural Law Association (ALA) and earlier this year, James was instrumental in establishing the Cheshire branch of the ALA. The ALA brings together agricultural professionals including surveyors, lawyers, accountants and farm business specialists to share best practice in agriculture, the environment, food and related issues.

The law firm is also a member of the Country Land and Business Association, which supports its members working in the sector and promotes the positive development of the rural economy.

This is the law firm’s second specialist law practice area to be announced this year, following its food practice launch in May.

SAS Daniels offers a full range of legal services to businesses and individuals and also has offices in Stockport, Congleton and Macclesfield.
