Wedding Planners Guild UK brings certifed wedding planning courses to Liverpool

"The guild currently offers two qualifications to students in Professional Wedding Planning"
Yvonne Bennett

The two-day course aspires to ensure that its students are the most successful in the wedding-planning industry both in the UK and abroad through in-depth teaching throughout a wide variety of topics, including budget monitoring, wedding planning, venues, bridal clothing and hair, beauty and cosmetics. Trainees will also study intercultural risk assessments, health and safety regulations and customer service.

The training program is ideal for both individuals wanting to pursue a career in wedding planning and businesses such as hotels, florists and photographers wanting to build on their existing skills and enhance their already established business.

Director at The Wedding Planners Guild UK Yvonne Bennett said: "A wedding planner is essential to ensure the ‘big day’ runs smoothly and does so by sourcing anything that comes with organizing a wedding, including catering, photography, invitations and locations. Training at The Wedding Planners Guild UK is designed for aspiring wedding planners and already established businesses in the industry, and is located Liverpool. The training is classroom based, after which students are required to complete a portfolio within six weeks to be forwarded to our Liverpool based Head Office for assessment.

"The guild currently offers two qualifications to students. Firstly, The Award in Professional Wedding Planning, which is an intensive classroom course compromising mainly theory based learning, which teaches students about marriage and wedding plans, themed weddings and weddings from other cultures. Following the course, the student will then be allowed six weeks to build and complete a portfolio which will be sent back to us for evaluation."

In addition to this, students will be given the opportunity to progress and undertake their Certificate in Professional Wedding Planning, which follows a similar format but is more focused on students wishing to start their own business offering skills including marketing and financial planning. Both courses cost £495 each.

The course, which was originally written in Dutch, was adapted and translated by Yvonne from a qualification by Wedding Planners International, when she acquired the rights to use the training scheme under the Wedding Planners Guild UK name.

Yvonne added: "I love the wedding planning industry and I love being able to spend my days teaching, so I feel that I’ve really found my vocation in life. My average day starts by researching industry news, keeping up with social media, working on training and translations and networking to ensure the business is well promoted.

"Setting up the business has been a huge sacrifice for me, I spent all of my savings starting up Wedding Planners Guild UK but it’s a sacrifice I’d make time and time again- I’ve been on a fantastic journey of self-discovery and made some great friends along the way."
