Bubbles' World of Play shortlisted for two Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards

"There are some big names in the categories were nominated in, so its brilliant that the centre is considered so highly in Liverpool City Region."

Indoor children’s play centre Bubbles’ World of Play, has been shortlisted for two awards at this year’s Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards.

Based at Marine Point, New Brighton, the indoor play area has been nominated in the ‘Large Visitor Attraction of the Year’ and ‘Tourism Star(s) of the Year’ categories.

The Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards takes place annually and celebrates the businesses in the visitor economy that bring in £3.8 billion each year to the city.

The £2.5 million indoor-play area is suitable for children aged 0-11, with different areas available throughout for babies, toddlers, and children. The play area takes inspiration from different corners of the world, and children can blast off to space, explore the tombs of Ancient Egypt and visit the kangaroos ‘down under’.

The Tourism Star of the Year category recognises the centre’s outstanding party team, who deliver various party packages for children’s birthdays. With different themes available, a special visit from Bubbles himself and deluxe party bags, every aspect of a child’s special day is catered for.

Peter Collard, general manager of Bubbles says: “I’m really proud of everything Bubbles’ World of Play has achieved in the past three years, so to be shortlisted in not one, but two categories at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards is a real honour. This is a testament to our fantastic team who strive to deliver high-quality family fun all year round.

“There are some big names in the categories we’re nominated in, so it’s brilliant that the centre is considered so highly in Liverpool City Region. We are particularly pleased to have been recognised in the Tourism Star of the Year category which recognises the fantastic work of our outstanding party team, who make children’s birthday parties so memorable!”

The news of the award nominations comes as the centre has invested a further £40,000 upgrading its facilities. Following customer feedback, a new Role Play Mini City Area has been created so children aged 1-5 can play together without older children running around.

Set within a gated area, younger children can play securely and enjoy everything that Bubbles has to offer.

The new role play area includes many new features, including a zoo with lots of animals; a coffee shop with till and seating; a vets with interactive play panels and animals; new items for the fire station; more products for mini shopkeepers to sell to one another and more objects to develop children's fine motor skills and enhance their play experience.

Peter adds: “We’re so excited to launch our new Role Play Mini City Area which will give children aged 1-5 years old the opportunity to enjoy playing together. We always listen to our customers and from their feedback we’ve enhanced the new role play area to ensure every child gets the best experience at Bubbles.

“We’re also in the final stages of launching an exciting new zone; the first gaming party experience of its kind at a children’s play centre in the UK. This will be open for older children so we are looking forward to revealing all in a few weeks’ time!”
