No Brainer represents PR and creative sector on shortlist for national award

""

Award-winning PR, social media and content marketing agency No Brainer is celebrating after being shortlisted for ‘Micro Business of the Year’ at the British Small Business Awards.

The Cheshire-based firm is the only PR or creative company on the ten-strong shortlist for the prestigious title - and the winner will be announced at a glitzy ceremony in London’s Grand Connaught Rooms, on October 20.

The ‘micro business of the year’ category at the British Small Business Awards is open to any company with between two and nine employees. Ben Lobel, the editor of SmallBusiness.co.uk which runs the awards, said it’s a significant group.

He said: “This is a critically important category representing, in terms of business size, the bulk of our readership at SmallBusiness.co.uk. The companies shortlisted have all demonstrated impressive revenues and an approach to their sector that sets them apart from their peers.”

The recognition comes following a highly successful 18 months for the young start-up firm.

Founded by Gary Jenkins and Lee Cullen in 2015, the agency has gone on to pick up a number of high-profile client wins and was recently crowned ‘New Business of the Year’ at the coveted Warrington Business Awards.

The firm has also made the shortlist for the Outstanding Small Public Relations Consultancy award at November’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations North West Pride Awards and in August, former BBC producer Steve Bland joined the team as News and Content Manager.

“We’re so proud to be representing the PR and creative industry in these national awards,” said No Brainer director and co-founder Lee Cullen.

“Over the last year we’ve enjoyed award recognition both locally and regionally. But to be in the running for a British Small Business Awards title really puts us on the national stage.”

“To be included on a shortlist like this is a reward for the hard work we’ve put in over the past 18 months,” added fellow director and co-founder Gary Jenkins.

“Many of the other companies on the shortlist are really well established so to be included shows how much we’ve grown in such a short space of time.

“In the last few months we’ve welcomed our first members of staff, moved into brand new offices and celebrated some significant client wins, so we’re really excited about the future for No Brainer.”

The British Small Business Awards is the leading celebration of the UK’s small business sector, recognising the nation’s best sole traders, micro businesses and small companies – as well as the services providers and advisers that support them.
