Heroes4Hire-Handymen Partner With BizWizUk to Tackle Veteran Job Crisis

Britain has long been berated for the lack of support surrounding its veterans. There are notoriously few initiatives to help war heroes find work on retiring from the forces.

Heroes4Hire-Handymen Partner With BizWizUk to Tackle Veteran Job Crisis

"There is a real window of opportunity for this organisation to make an impact in the North West and beyond. Ann and her team instantly seemed to get what we are doing and what we want to achieve."

Recognising a growing need for skilled handymen in the North West, Nigel identified an opportunity to get veterans back into work. Over the past 18 months, he’s set about creating a handyman service that would recruit and train ex-army workers to give them a new career path outside of the military – Heroes4Hire-Handymen.

As the UK’s first veteran-only handyman service, Nigel identified a big opportunity to tap into a nationwide job crisis. Already, Heroes4Hire-Handymen has been awarded the Armed Forces Covenant under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, demonstrating the calibre of the organisation.

Realising the potential of Heroes4Hire-Handymen, Nigel has set an ambitious goal to hire 1,000 veterans over the next four years. However, he knew this would be difficult to achieve alone. Having met BizWizUK through networking in Manchester, he decided to explore ways in which they could build the organisation’s online presence.

“There is a real window of opportunity for this organisation to make an impact in the North West and beyond. Ann and her team instantly seemed to ‘get’ what we are doing and what we want to achieve, so I felt confident that BizWizUK would be able to help us fulfil our goals,” says Nigel.

In line with the organisation’s growth objectives, Nigel has appointed BizWizUK to drive forward the digital marketing strategy. As a Manchester agency with a growing focus on non-for-profit organisations, BizWizUK aligned closely to the values and vision of Heroes4Hire-Handymen.

“My brother was in the paratroopers, so I’ve seen first-hand how little support veterans receive when leaving the army. We’re delighted to be supporting such a fantastic cause, and feel confident that Nigel’s drive and our expertise will allow Heroes4Hire-Handymen to achieve – or even excel – its growth targets for the coming years,” says Ann Davies, Director of BizWizUK.

With a strong focus on social media marketing, the strategy aims to raise the profile of Heroes4Hire-Handymen, while helping to recruit both veterans and sponsors for the organisation’s handyman service.
