Following the success of their debut track, ‘Walk Away’, Manchester band Yes Lad have released their second single, ‘Something More’, directed by local video production company, WhiteNoise Media.
Based in Manchester, WhiteNoise Media is an award-winning video production agency. Proud to create moving stories through creative and dynamic video content, this boutique agency has made a name for itself as a leading producer of digital campaigns.
In light of the tragic recent events at Manchester Arena, the video comes at a poignant time for the city’s music scene, a sentiment that the band and WhiteNoise media were keen to acknowledge during production.
Filmed in Manchester city centre, Brunswick Mill in Ancoats, and Shri Swaminarayan Mandir temple in Bolton, the video celebrates the city’s irrepressible dynamism. The closing shot is of the Manchester bee; few other symbols portray the message of a city united with quite such force. Lee Holdsworth, founder and CEO of WhiteNoise, explains his decision-making:
“We wanted to create a video that not only reflected the bhangra theme and style of the track, but also the band’s energy and personalities. It felt natural to focus on their home town, and give a nod to the worker bee that symbolises Manchester’s togetherness.”
"I was happy to engage WhiteNoise Media for the new Yes Lad video and they didn't let me down - the finished work is a masterpiece."
Shot on a Blackmagic Ursa Mini and the Phantom Flex 4K, the video is undeniably cinematic, with Holi powders made more vivid by Da Vinci Resolve colour grading.
On working with WhiteNoise Media, Yes Lad manager Nigel Martin-Smith said:
"Obviously there are hundreds of production companies to choose from in London and they all wanted to work with Yes Lad. As I’m based in Manchester, I always use Manchester creatives where possible. I was happy to engage WhiteNoise Media for the new Yes Lad video and they didn't let me down - the finished work is a masterpiece."
The production of ‘Something More’ marks a new avenue for WhiteNoise Media, as the company brings its skills and expertise to focus on the thriving music scene in the North West.
“It was a great opportunity to be asked to work with Nigel Martin-Smith and his new band Yes Lad on their new single. We’re really pleased with the results, and already looking ahead to some exciting concepts for future music projects,” says Lee.
