Bury Entrepreneurs Set To Transform National Property Market

Bury Entrepreneurs Set To Transform National Property Market

""

Entrepreneurs Ben Moore from Bury and David Bhidey from Lowton are set to shake up the way people buy and sell houses across the country thanks to Start Up Now, the North West arm of the government’s national £150m Start Up Loans programme.

Ben and David set up Sell Simple Estate Agency with the aim of providing a new solution to selling properties across the UK with their fast sale estate agency. Sell Simple aims to occupy a middle ground between traditional estate agencies and cash buying firms and the online business has already outperformed its targets by over 50% after just a few months of trading. The company has also just sold a house in 24 hours; the Doncaster property was listed on the afternoon of 29th January, had two viewings straight away and the sale was agreed on 30th January.

The success of the business means that the team have now opened an office in Bolton town centre and also operate a dedicated office in Chelsea in London, both of which are dedicated to setting up valuations and appointments. As they grow, Sell Simple also plans to employ more staff both in the North West and around the country.

Ben said: “We set up Sell Simple to offer a real alternative to home owners across the UK who need to sell their homes quickly but aren’t prepared to sell them for far below the market value. We want to remove the stress, hassle and stigma from the selling process and make the whole experience as simple as possible.  We’re able to move quickly because we only deal with buyers who are able to proceed, with finances in place and solicitors instructed. We also combine an effective pricing policy with extensive advertising campaigns to ensure maximum buyer interest in the properties.

“The £8k loan we received from Start Up Now enabled us to really cover all of our major set up costs such as setting up the office, our website, advertising and subscriptions. We’ve worked incredibly hard to connect with the right audiences and make an impact in the industry and are delighted to be outperforming our targets by over 50% in our first few months of trading.”

Ben and David received their loan from Start Up Now, the North West arm of the national £150m Start Up Loans programme delivered by Business Finance Solutions. Start Up Now will see £15 million allocated to new start-ups across the North West over the next two years, creating around 3000 new businesses and over 5000 new jobs in the region.

Paul Breen, Director of Business Finance Solutions, said: “Ben and David are exactly the kind of person who will really benefit from the support available from Start Up Now. They have spotted a real gap in the market for an estate agency service that can react quickly and give sellers and buyers what they need in what can often be a complicated market.  We’re really pleased that the Loans have enabled Sell Simple to launch and are delighted that they have already established such a solid record of success after such a short time.”

Start Up Now is a new complete partnership between Business Finance Solutions (BFS) and the NatWest for start ups in GM and the wider region, offering a suite of support, loans and services to entrepreneurs, all driven through unique bank referral arrangements.  Over 700 BFS Start Up Loan recipients in the North West are now running their own businesses, creating employment and economic opportunities across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire and Cumbria

The Start Up Now partnership with NatWest is the first of its kind to take place under the government’s £150 million Start Up Loans programme and builds on the partnership agreement signed with former RBS CEO Stephen Hester in 2011 and on the launch of the Loans scheme by David Cameron in 2012. BFS was the first delivery partner in the country to make loans under the scheme and now manages the Loan Management Provision Service for over 30 Delivery Partners nationally. Since December 2012 BFS has managed over 4,500 applications and has awarded £30m Start Up Loans. Start Up Now is available to everyone over the age of 18 in the North West.
