Catexel appoints new business development manager

"Were pleased to welcome Liz to the Catexel team her experience fits well with our business strategy and we look forward to working with her."

A speciality chemicals company, Catexel, has further expanded the company with the appointment of a new business development manager and an intern from the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) programme – both based as its new Manchester office.

Liz Manning brings a wealth of experience to the newly created business development manager role. She has most recently worked in commercial roles at chemical specialists MEL Chemicals and pharmaceutical supplier Thompson & Capper – both prominent industry leaders in the North West. At Catexel, she will be focused on the delivery of customer sales plans and new business development.

With a first class master’s degree in chemistry from the University of York and an MBA, Liz will have exposure to both technical and commercial environments in her new role.

Amy Bishop joins the team from the RSC internship programme. After studying at the University of York at the reputable Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence, Amy brings a highly technical background to this commercially focused role.

The appointments follow a strong period of growth for the chemical company that focuses on oxidation catalysis and has a worldwide customer base across the textiles, coatings and detergent and industrial cleaning sectors. It has recently hired three other new interns and taken the space at a prominent office in Manchester city centre: 111 Piccadilly. With proprietary chemistry that facilitates faster, cleaner and safer ways of working, Catexel’s solutions replace less desirable additives, save energy and lower cost in use –  delivering strong sustainability benefits for its partners in industry.

Paul Smith, CEO at Catexel comments: “We’re pleased to welcome Liz to the Catexel team – her experience fits well with our business strategy and we look forward to working with her. It’s a great time to be joining Catexel – following the success of several internship programmes, Liz will also be managing Amy Bishop, the latest Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) intern.

“Having a base in Manchester is critical for allowing the business to grow – and we’re really proud to have Liz and Amy representing Catexel in the North West.”
