The directors of a recently launched legal recruitment consultancy are making a name for themselves on the Manchester business scene thanks to their new voluntary positions. Since launching Realm Recruit in November 2015, Abbie Hart and Duane Cormell have been making use of their entrepreneurial skills at the Junior Chamber International (JCI) and Forever Manchester.

Born and bred Mancunian Abbie, 27, has been elected to the board of JCI’s Manchester branch, taking on the role of Social Director. JCI is a voluntary personal development organisation for young professionals and entrepreneurs aged 18-40.

Abbie, who has previous experience in events management, said: “My role at JCI requires me to take the lead in organising the monthly social events held by the Chamber. These events are a great opportunity to meet fellow professionals in the area, whilst raising money for worthy causes, such as our three chosen charities for 2016 - MedEquip4Kids, Action Against Hunger and Challenge for Change.”

Abbie’s appointment to the board further reinforces Realm’s commitment to the Chamber, with Realm having been a sponsor of its annual awards event, the Manchester Young Talent Awards, last November.

JCI Manchester's 2016 president, Paul Widger of RSM, said: "JCI is all about connecting and developing young talent in our city.  It's a privilege for me that many of those young stars also take up the opportunity to collectively run the organisation.  Abbie, for one, brings great commercial and events experience. We’re looking forward to a fantastic year."

Meanwhile, 27-year-old Duane has become an Ambassador for Forever Manchester, a charity that funds and supports thousands of community projects across Greater Manchester. He said: “Like my fellow Ambassadors, I share a passion for this great city and the people that live in it.”

He added: “Having moved here in 2007, I see Manchester as my adopted home, and so naturally I wanted to use my commercial knowledge to help raise money for social projects across the city and heighten the profile of this fantastic charity; making a real difference at local level.”
