Cheshire based acoustic specialists Floorscan Acoustics have completed a major conversion project on Level 1 of the Studios at MediaCityUK, for one of Europe’s leading digital media service providers, dock10.
As the leading media services provider at MediaCityUK, dock10 has enhanced their offering by opening an additional brand new post-production hub with the support of Floorscan Acoustics. ‘The Quay’ is located in the heart of the campus, and offers a boutique feel featuring high-end technology in a creative but relaxed environment.
Floorscan acted as principal contractor on the scheme, including design, specification and build of the project, and now completed, it includes:
· 10 offline suites
· 2 online suites
· 4 VFX suites
· A motion graphics area
· An expanded grade facility with built in projector.
Speaking of the innovative project completed by the Floorscan team, Head of Projects & Procurement at MediaCityUK, Mark Hudson, comments:

As their name suggests, Floorscan Acoustics began life as a floor soundproofing company established in Liverpool in 1994. Their reputation and range of services has grown rapidly and having run the company as Manager for 5 years, in 2015, Simon Donald purchased the business.
The now £1M turnover company supplies and installs specialist acoustic products and systems to a range of UK wide customers including those in the construction, music and broadcast industries, but have also become specialists in the education and elite residential sector. Working from their relocated Cheshire headquarters, the acoustic and sound proofing specialists have completed projects for a number of prestigious clients, and now the internationally acclaimed dock10.
Completing large projects on time and within clients’ budgets is part of what makes Floorscan a Northwest success, and commenting on the dock10 project achievement, Managing Director, Simon Donald concludes;
