Housing association implements housing management solution to efficiently manage its estate

Welsh housing association chooses MIS AMS software to manage its estate

"Choosing the new housing management system is central to our strategic plans to be able to offer residents consistency across all channels of communication with us."
Roy Carroll, project manager, Grwp Cynefin

Welsh housing association, Grŵp Cynefin, that manages an estate of 4,500 residential homes across seven local authority areas in North and mid Wales, has chosen MIS AMS’s housing management solution in a competitive three-way pitch. The ActiveH software will manage the organisation’s rents, repairs, resident texting, planned maintenance, business intelligence reporting and CRM in one integrated system.

Grŵp Cynefin, created during the merger of two smaller associations on April 1, 2014 began evaluating how to integrate the new organisation’s housing management systems and processes in February 2015. Chosen from an initial list of six vendors, MIS AMS’s ActiveH will entirely replace the two legacy systems, Aareon QL and Capita IBS.

Data can be captured and stored in ActiveH to provide one single view of its assets and resident data making it easier to manage maintenance and repairs across the estate of 4,500 houses and easier to communicate with residents.

“Choosing the new housing management system is central to our strategic plans to be able to offer residents consistency across all channels of communication with us,” explains Roy Carroll, project manager, Grŵp Cynefin.

“We’ve done a full evaluation of the business requirements and taken the opportunity to write a new suite of policies that will allow us to tailor our services and communicate more efficiently with not just residents, but contractors and employees too.

“We have a long term vision to implement a mobile solution so that we can take housing management to the next level and offer the best in stakeholder communications.

“We’ve had universally positive feedback from customer reference sites for ActiveH, and in the evaluations we undertook of the software, we were as impressed. This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the potential that ActiveH can provide for us,” concludes Roy Carroll.

The project will be undertaken in two phases beginning in April 2016.

Chris McLaughlin, managing director at MIS AMS said: “ActiveH will provide a more efficient system for all parties; residents, contractors and employees allowing them to access all the housing information in one place. Residents will also be able to communicate better with Grŵp Cynefin with regards to their housing issues speeding processes up and keeping customers happy.”
