James Bisset MBE
On Tuesday 14th January, James Bisset, Chair of North-West based charity Youth Fed, was awarded an MBE at Buckingham Palace. The MBE was awarded by HRH The Duke of Cambridge. Mr Bisset was accompanied to the palace by his wife, Vivienne.
This award is a result of Mr Bisset’s outstanding leadership which has made a significant difference to countless members of society for almost a quarter of a century. In 1993, Mr Bisset became Chairman for the Mersey Regional Ambulance Service Trust and has since transformed a number of charities and businesses such as The David Lewis Centre for Epilepsy, The National Ambulance Service Association, Macclesfield and Vale Royal Groundwork Trust. He is also currently the Chair of ECHC in Macclesfield, which provides care and housing for young people with profound mental health issues.
At Youth Fed, Mr Bisset has launched major initiatives to create relationships with funders that support mentoring opportunities, as well as work and volunteering placements. With his help, Youth Fed has increased the number of young people in the North West benefitting from their work, year upon year.
Youth Fed now supports over 7,000 young people directly and over 50,000 through their network of member organisations.

Youth Fed is a North West based charity that helps improve the lives of young people through creating and delivering activities and offering one-to-one mentoring.
