SES Engineering Services makes new senior appointment

""

Leading national engineering specialist, SES Engineering Services has appointed Damian Lawson as its new operations manager in the South West.

Damian will lead the regional team providing specialist mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services across the region. He will also be working to cultivate existing client relationships while leading the strategic direction of SES’ continued growth and expansion in the South West.

Damian joins SES from CBRE, where he was head of projects overseeing the delivery of work with major clients including KPMG, Brindley Place, NASUWT and Mars Group.

Damian said his appointment was timely, as he was keen to join a forward-thinking, innovative engineering services company.

He said: “SES is really leading the way when it comes to complex technical projects and embracing emerging digital engineering practices, as the first MEP contractor to achieve BRE BIM Level 2 Business Certification recently.

“The company has a superb heritage and is known for working on a number of outstanding high-profile projects in the region including four major schemes for Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS) Yeovilton, a £160m scheme for the Margam Green Energy Plant in Port Talbot and HM Parc Prison, a £7.7m Category B men’s private prison and Young Offenders Institution in Bridgend.

“I’m enjoying working with the talented team here at SES and look forward to driving further growth in the South West.”

Damian has been awarded associate membership of both CIBSE and CIOB. He will be based at SES’ offices at Aztec West in Bristol.

Robert Doherty, regional director for the South West and North West, commented: “Hiring Damian is a great coup for our business in the South West. He brings decades of knowledge and experience to the role and is wholly focused on delivering an exemplary service for our clients.

“We are working with a host of prestigious clients and contractors currently across the region and I’m sure that, with Damian’s support, we’ll continue to progress.”

SES recently became the first Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Services contractor (MEP) to achieve BRE Accredited BIM Level 2 Business Certification, one month ahead of the government’s public sector project compliance deadline.
