A Cumbrian couple are hoping to brew up business success after opening their own caf in the Lake District.
The Crossing Point Cafe has been shortlisted in the Independent Cafe of the Year category at the awards that take place in London next month.
Birks Farm, which is next door to the JMP Foodservice depot on Birks Lane, Sedbergh, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, installed the AD plant in 2015. The system processes farm waste and generates electricity and heat. In addition, it produces a high-quality fertiliser that is used on crops.
It only opened its doors two years ago, but already The Crossing Point Cafe has earned a glowing reputation with locals and visitors alike.
Owners of The Crossing Point Cafe, John and Renata Strange, proudly represented Cumbria as the only eatery in the region nominated for an award at the glittering ceremony in London. John said We are absolutely over the moon to have been awarded gold in our category.
Following its launch last month, eateries from across Cumbria have less than one month left to enter this year s Food Porn Awards.
