Legendary Liverpool grocery store Matta's has extended its offer after introducing a new delivery service by popular demand.
Since the onset of lockdown, the Bold Street, Liverpool City Centre store which remains open albeit with slightly reduced hours, has been inundated with requests from its regular shoppers who can't get to the store.
In response, co-owner Dalip Matta explained that the family business with a history spanning more than 50 years in the city, had been mulling over many recent customer requests asking if they could deliver.
"They’ve come from both existing and new customers and from a community perspective alone, it felt like the right thing to do.
"Everyone we speak with is adapting to some kind of change right now. For us, that’s meant adjusting our opening hours temporarily and it's also seen some very long shifts, but we’re used to that, in working with suppliers to keep shelves filled and we’ve managed it with a massive thanks to our team.
"On the subject of deliveries, we’re geared up, ready and already rolling but have had to put in place a number of terms and conditions as our family business goes through yet another evolution in its 50+ year history."
In no particular order, Matta's terms and conditions are as follows:
The minimum order for all deliveries is £25.
Matta's will deliver within a 7 mile radius from our store.
Each delivery carries a charge of £5 to cover fuel costs.
Payment is required at the time of placing an order. At the moment, payment is by phone only via 07365 385 485.
Matta's cannot deliver frozen goods.
Matta's can deliver chilled goods within a 2 mile radius.
Matta's aims to deliver the next day for orders received by 2pm the previous day.
