Ski company adds spectacular chalet to French Alps portfolio

"The opportunity to manage a property like The Lightbowne came along based on our track record for providing excellent chalet experiences and it has been great working with the owner on the project."
Tom Marley-Shaw, MD, TG Ski

The boutique tour operator, whose UK head office is based in Wilmslow, has launched the five-star chalet in the world class ski resort  to meet a growing demand for high end ski and stay experience and strengthen the company’s credentials as the ‘go to’ luxury chalet experts in this area of the Alps.

The Lightbowne sleeps up to 14 people and has just been spectacularly refurbished by leading designer Sam Cox, now presenting a super chic, modern British interior combined with TG Ski’s distinctive approach to service to deliver memorable holiday experiences.

TG Ski already manages an established portfolio of handpicked chalets in Morzine and Meribel with a 25-strong team of hosts, chefs and drivers looking after 1000s of holidaymakers every year, supported by the Wilmslow based bookings and management team.

Managing Director Tom Marley-Shaw said the investment in the Lightbowne would open up new markets to the company. “The opportunity to manage a property like The Lightbowne came along based on our track record for providing excellent chalet experiences and it has been great working with the owner on the project.

“We bring all our unique service expertise into a truly sumptuous environment with the long-term intention of introducing more properties of this stature to our collection.”

The service expertise at the Lightbowne currently includes a chef whose career includes eight years in Michelin starred restaurants before working privately for Jay-Z, Paul McCartney and Bon Jovi.

“It’s all in the detail, “ said Tom. “He is perfect for the Lightbowne.

He continued: “It reflects a central principle about how we provide holidays for people spending precious time away from busy schedules.  When we started the company in 2004 we saw a gap in the market for bringing in resort staff who were empowered to make a stay truly memorable.

“So we look for people with personality and intelligence from all walks of life who understand what really matters to people on holiday. So as well as bringing knowledge and passion to the role they are intuitive and capable of making decisions that make a difference to the experience – often quite small things that get noticed – and help drive an amazing repeat booking culture.”
