Food blogger creates three summer recipes for all to enjoy

"I think cooking is a great way to unwind and I've really enjoyed thinking creatively to develop these kid-friendly, fun to eat recipes."
Debbie Jones

A nutritionist, chef, researcher, photographer and food lover, Debbie Jones was tasked by Lovell Homes to create Summer Eats - three recipes that kids would be able to help make and more importantly, enjoy eating! She devised three meals that were relatively easy to put together, using fresh seasonal ingredients, that could also be enjoyed al fresco. The three dishes created exclusively for Lovell Homes are; Simple summer spaghetti with puréed peas, basil & parmesan, Mini pizzas with homemade dough and Paprika chicken wraps with 5 minute guacamole & mixed bean salad.

With high spec, spacious, family-friendly kitchens, and great outdoor spaces ideal for alfresco dining and summer fun at all of their homes, Lovell Homes wanted to create a summer campaign that utilised both of these aspects. The three Summer Eats recipes will be available to pick up in Lovell’s marketing suites across the North West and are also online on Lovell’s blog. These recipe cards are not just for current residents and prospective buyers, they are for everyone and anyone who would like to use them, while stocks last!

Clare Noakes, regional sales director for Lovell Homes, explains: “Our kitchens have a fantastic specification and are ideal for family life. Over the summer holidays, we wanted to help parents keep the kids occupied and we felt that getting them into the kitchen and cooking was a great way to do this. These dishes are great for sharing and bringing friends and neighbours together and we’re looking forward to seeing some pictures of these dishes on social media, we’ve all tried them already and our kids loved them! While the weather is this good, it’s great to have some simple meal choices that can be enjoyed outside and we hope that everyone enjoys the results.”

Debbie Jones said: “I love to cook and create recipes for others, so this has been a really great project for me. Thinking about ways to occupy energetic kids, I paid close attention to the types of things children could help out with in the kitchen. I think cooking is a great way to unwind and I've really enjoyed thinking creatively to develop these kid-friendly, fun to eat recipes."

For anyone who has a go at making one of Lovell Homes’ Summer Eats recipes and shares the results on social media with the hashtag #summereatswithlovell, tagging in Lovell Homes (Instagram: lovell_homes, Twitter @Lovell_UK, facebook @Lovellhomes), they will be entered into a prize draw to win £250 worth of M&S vouchers. T’s and C’s apply*.
