Cheshire Networker Passes Record £2M in Business to Fellow Members

Prolific Networker Keith Handed £875K of Business to One Associate

Cheshire Networker Passes Record £2M in Business to Fellow Members

A member of a prolific Cheshire networking group has passed more than £2m of business to his fellow members, it has been revealed.

The dedicated networker, who helps his associates thrive with regular referrals worth thousands of pounds, reached the landmark figure before Christmas when he handed £28,000 of business to a Chester insurance company.

Since then he has added to the spoils shared at his weekly breakfast club meeting in Wilmslow, and taken the total amount of paid-up trade he has handed out to an astonishing £2,050,293.

Keith Hadaway, 56 from Winsford, has made 422 business referrals in the four years he has been a member of Business Networking International and is the first in the organisation’s Cheshire and North Wales region to ever break the £2m referral mark.

The typical amount of completed business passed by one BNI member in a year averages £25K. Former chairman of BNI’s Wilmslow chapter Andrew Rosamond has referred £148K in his 16 years as a BNI networker.

Keith said: “It’s been a privilege to go out networking on behalf of so many fine businesses. The fact that our members are so good at what they do makes it all the easier for me to pass on completed business. I’m delighted to have passed on £2m of trade to them.”

"He's a master networker, a popular figure within BNI and people warm to him quickly. But he is also immensely hard-working and dedicated to helping others achieve their business aims."
BNIs Executive Director Ewan Sturman

Keith’s incredible contribution to BNI members’ prosperity became achievable in such a short period when he passed a £875,000 job to construction boss Jamie Garrett last year. The Utility Warehouse rep also frequently refers up to £50,000 of business to a leading commercial energy consultant.

BNI’s Executive Director Ewan Sturman, 50 and from Birkenhead, put Keith’s achievement further into perspective. He said: “Keith is the first member of BNI in the north west of England to ever refer that amount of completed business. It is a staggering sum to pass on, especially in such a short period, and I’m sure his fellow chapter members are absolutely delighted with him.

“The amount of networking required to drum up that kind of trade for other people should not be underestimated. He’s a master networker, a popular figure within BNI and people warm to him quickly. But he is also immensely hard-working and dedicated to helping others achieve their business aims. If I know Keith then he will be already fully focused on referring £3m of business through the Wilmslow chapter as soon as possible.”

Jamie Garrett, the 33-year-old managing director of Winsford-based J Garrett Construction who received Keith’s largest single business referral, added: “He is a networking phenomenon. The day he turned up with almost £1m of business for me my jaw nearly hit the ground. Only Keith could do that.”

Members of BNI, a marketing referral network that insists on having only one member of a trade in each group, are duty-bound to carry all attendees’ calling cards with them in anticipation of opportunities to put their fellow members’ services forward. Any opportunities for work are then made known at the next networking meeting.

BNI’s Wilmslow chapter, which prides itself on its friendly atmosphere over breakfast, has been a regular event in the local area for 17 years. At present it has 21 members out of a target 35 including an architect, builder, accountant, solicitor and graphic designer among other skillsets. Many of those attending for several years come from as far afield as Northwich, Stockport, Macclesfield and Knutsford.
