Reaseheath College to host research and development showcase

"Our business innovation showcase will provide an ideal opportunity for businesses looking for support on maximising performance and profitability."

Reaseheath College is preparing to host its biggest ever business innovation showcase event later this month in support of small businesses across the region.

Taking place on Thursday 23 November, the event will feature expert advice on business development, alongside opportunities for academic research and development, industry trials work and equipment testing.

As the UK’s leading land-based college, Reaseheath has carried out collaborative pilot studies and product trials which will be exhibited to provide businesses with inspiration. Attendees will also have the chance to discuss their own ideas and proposals with graduates, research staff and business advisors.

Janet Nuzum, ERDF Business Advisor at Reaseheath College, said: “Our business innovation showcase will provide an ideal opportunity for businesses looking for support on maximising performance and profitability.

“We have expert staff and graduates from our equine, agriculture, food, horticulture, countryside and animal management departments who are searching for suitable and challenging projects they can support, covering areas such as product trial work, customer preference surveys and business efficiency analysis. The case studies illustrated on the night will give food for thought for businesses and provide the platform for discussion with some of the industry’s leading experts.”

Annette McDonald, Head of Commercial Projects at Reaseheath College, added: “These events are incredibly important. Reaching out across a range of sectors, businesses will be able to get an insight into the resources available and gain access to a talented, enthusiastic undergraduate student body that can help take their research forward.

“There are several benefits for conducting research and development as a small business – it can drive product improvement or innovation and can also help with the development of unique products and services within the existing business offering. This can generate new income streams and potentially new investors for a business. I would encourage any forward-thinking business to seize this opportunity.”

For businesses based in Cheshire & Warrington, additional workshops and bespoke 1-2-1 training sessions through Reaseheath’s ERDF growth programme may also be available. Further details on support can be accessed on the evening.

The event will take place on Thursday 23rd November between 6– 8pm at Reaseheath’s Centre for Horticulture the Environment and Sustainable Technology.  To register attendance or to request more information, please contact businessgrowth@reaseheath.ac.uk
