Digital academy offers new chartered qualification

"This qualification is ideal for providing insight into the digital customer experience and arming marketers with the skills to successfully navigate this changing market."

A Manchester-based digital and social media academy is now offering a brand new marketing qualification from The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). Business Consort works with professionals to improve their skills and employability.

The Digital Diploma in Professional Marketing is designed for marketers in supervisory or management roles wishing to develop their strategic digital marketing skills and is undertaken online, allowing time-poor professionals to study at a time and place which suits them.

Business Consort has been working alongside CIM for six years to enrich individuals with the knowledge required to plan, implement and monitor successful digital marketing campaigns and help employers to ensure that their marketing resource is operating at the forefront of industry developments.

Earlier this year, it was recognised by CIM and received its ninth commendation for the outstanding results achieved by digital marketing students. The provider works nationwide with household name businesses and has 2,500 students studying online.

Diane Earles, Network Manager at CIM, said: “Consumers have evolved to expect communication with brands to be online and digital marketing sits at the heart of this shift in behaviour. However, if they’re to tap into it, marketing practitioners need to take an integrated approach that’s mapped to the customer journey.

“There’s a wealth of business opportunities on offer, and this qualification will ensure they’re equipped to make the most of them.”

The qualification will cover three key areas – driving digital experience, digital strategy and mastering digital channels.

Dawn McGruer, who founded Business Consort in 2005, said: “The world of digital provides a stellar opportunity for brands to grow but still, too many companies approach it in an ad-hoc manner without a true strategy in place. While they may have got away with this until now, as online overtakes offline, it’s no longer possible to stay ahead of competitors using this approach.

“This qualification is ideal for providing insight into the digital customer experience and arming marketers with the skills to successfully navigate this changing market.”
