A bespoke venue for researchers conducting focus groups for everything from food and drinks to music systems, financial products and holidays has opened at Salford Quays.
The Buzz Rooms is the brainchild of Sarah Butler and is aimed at market researchers and insight managers.
It is the latest addition to her range of business interests and is housed in the headquarters of Infinity Asset Management, of which she is a co-founder and partner.
She has established The Buzz Rooms on the ground floor of Infinity’s headquarters at Clippers Quay after conducting her own research and finding a gap in the market for a boutique viewing facility in the north west.
The Buzz Rooms features a clients’ viewing room with a large one-way mirror through which they can observe the focus group in an adjoining room.
The respondents’ room is equipped with video and audio recording equipment and has an online streaming capability so their discussions can be viewed remotely.
Both rooms can accommodate up to 10 people at a time, and moderators can be provided on request.
The Buzz Rooms also has a kitchen, which Sarah says makes the venue attractive for food-tasting research projects.
"We think it's the ideal setting in an accessible location"
There are also breakout areas and three meeting rooms available for interviews, workshops, company away days, training and brainstorming sessions.
Sarah, pictured at The Buzz Rooms, said: “Having spoken to researchers, it was clear they were looking for something different and that there was a gap in the market for a bespoke viewing facility which offers them exclusive use.
“Their feedback played a big role in the design and layout of The Buzz Rooms, which features modern furniture, a contemporary kitchen facility plus numerous breakout areas.
“We hope our approach in creating a vibrant viewing facility will resonate with market researchers and insight professionals, on both client and agency sides.
“We think it’s the ideal setting in an accessible location, and we are excited to get going.”
The Buzz Rooms is near MediaCityUK and close to Exchange Quay Metrolink station. There is free parking for those visiting by car.
Infinity, which manages and operates property, private equity and debt funds, moved to Salford Quays from Manchester city centre last year.
Alongside her role at Infinity, Sarah’s other business interests include being an investor in Beyond Residential, a property sales, management and lettings agency based at the Quays.
