Three storey Grade II-listed commercial property on Knutsford's King Street comes to market for £950,000

"Opportunities to acquire the freehold on a property like this at one of Knutsfords most sought-after addresses are few and far between."

September 2019: A Grade II-listed commercial property in one of Cheshire’s most desirable locations has come to market with an asking price of £950,000 for the freehold. The owners of Knutsford Antiques, which is located at 113 King Street, have asked Blacks Business Brokers to find a new owner as part of their retirement planning.

The 2,600 sq ft double-fronted property, which has been trading as Knutsford Antiques for 23 years, dates back to the Georgian period. It is divided into 12 large rooms spread across three storeys.

Knutsford Antiques is located toward the upper end of King Street, the main shopping street in Knutsford, which is home to many independent shops, boutiques and restaurants. It is a stone’s throw from the town’s entrance to picturesque Tatton Park, the National Trust property that hosts a wide range of events, including an annual RHS Show.

The King Street property was acquired in 1995 by David and Patricia McLeod, who established their antiques business within the premises. The couple now wish to sell the business and premises and retire.

A new owner could, if they wished, continue to operate the antiques centre business. This currently generates rental income of £60,000 per year from letting rooms and cabinets to a number of independent antiques dealers. The property would also lend itself to a wide range of retail or commercial uses and could be sold vacant possession if required.

Chelsea Melnyk, sales negotiator at Blacks Business Brokers, said, “Opportunities to acquire the freehold on a property like this at one of Knutsford’s most sought-after addresses are few and far between. It will make a fabulous investment whether a new owner chooses to continue operating the antiques shop, base their own business there or let it out to commercial tenants.”

“I am expecting substantial interest in this one now the word is out.”

All enquiries should be directed to Blacks Business Brokers on 0333 370 0000, quoting reference 6684.
