Blackpool’s Talbot Gateway was named Commercial Development of the Year at the Insider North West Property Awards 2014 held last night (Thursday 15 May 2014) at Manchester Central.
Hosted by North West Business Insider, the awards attracted 1,100 of the North West’s elite property professionals and the scheme, by Muse Developments, beat off strong competition from several other projects in the region.
Matt Crompton, joint managing director of Manchester-based Muse, also received a trophy on the night, taking home the Property Personality of the Year award.
Comprising the 126,000 sq ft Number 1 Bickerstaffe Square, a 110,000 sq ft Sainsbury’s store and a multi-storey car park, phase one of Muse’s 25-acre Talbot Gateway has provided new retail, commercial and town centre parking for the seaside town.
Speaking at the awards, Mike Horner, regional director at Muse Developments, said: “We’re delighted to have received this award for Talbot Gateway, which is testament to everyone’s hard work and determination to develop a scheme of real quality in the heart of Blackpool.
“Talbot Gateway is an exciting and ambitious project with great buildings which is bringing about transformational change and a much needed boost for the town centre.
