James Boyd named as BB Law’s chief exec of conveyancing

Leading Manchester law firm, Birchall Blackburn Law, has appointed James Boyd as chief executive of conveyancing as the firm continues its ambitious growth plans.  
An experienced property director, James who has worked in the sector for 20 years, is also the chairman of Weaver Vale Housing Trust, Cheshire and sits on the board of the Pier Head Housing Association, Liverpool.
The 48 year-old from Mid Cheshire is also on the strategy board for ‘All Together Better’, a pilot scheme to deliver a whole place community budget under the direction of the Government’s Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne.
The appointment comes as the law firm pushes forward on growing its conveyancing team by 50 per cent resulting in the creation of new jobs.
Cathy MacCracken, partner at Birchall Blackburn Law, said: “The firm is always looking to the future and the strategic appointment of James will allow us to have a fresh focus on training and recruitment, seeking and developing local talent.
“It was a carefully considered selection process and James impressed the board with how he aims to take the firm forward into its next phase of development.”
James will oversee both the commercial and residential property departments across the firm’s eight offices in Chester, Chorley, Formby, Manchester, Morecambe, Penwortham, Preston and Southport.
He commented: “This is an exciting opportunity as property markets are active and growing at pace.
“As a firm we want to grow too making sure we enhance our speed and delivery of service for clients.
“In addition to growing the team, my aim is to double our presence on national accredited panels making BB Law a clear leader in providing expert advice.
“We want to be renowned for giving added value to clients, guiding them through every step of the conveyancing process so they start and end their journey with us.”
