Countryside, one of the UK’s leading home builders specialising in placemaking and regeneration, has taken to the classroom to teach pupils in Chadderton an important lesson in health and safety.

Forming part of Countryside’s ongoing community safety initiative, the Countryside team took part in an assembly at St Luke’s CE Primary School to speak to the children about the importance of staying safe when near building sites.

The visit follows the launch of Countryside’s latest development, Radclyffe Gardens, off Foxdenton Lane, where the developer is currently building a new collection of three and four bedroom homes.

The informative presentation was given to all 195 pupils at the school and explained the potential hazards to look out for when around a construction site. The children were also shown how the construction workers stay safe while working, through the use of props and demonstrations.

Ian Kelley, Chief Executive, Partnerships North, Countryside commented: “The safety of the local communities in which we build is very important to us and visiting neighbouring schools is a key part of this. With most children walking past or living near to our development, our presentation aims to make them aware of the underlying dangers that can occur around live sites.

“Thank you to St Luke’s CE Primary School for being very welcoming and we hope the pupils found our assembly both enjoyable and informative.”

Ian Walsh, Headteacher, St Luke’s CE Primary School said: “Countryside’s health and safety assembly was well presented and conveyed a very important message to our pupils in a fun and engaging way. All the children thoroughly enjoyed it and we’d like to thank Countryside for coming in to speak to them.”

Radclyffe Gardens offers a selection of three and four bedroom homes, available through a number of home buying initiatives, including the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme. For more information about the new homes go to https://radclyffegardens.co.uk or visit the sales office, which is open Thursday to Monday from 11am until 6pm at Radclyffe Gardens off Foxdenton Lane, Chadderton, Manchester, M24 1QW.
