Maxweb has recruited a new apprentice in a bid to continue to develop young business talent.

Maxweb develops young talent through its apprenticeship opportunities

"Having seen first-hand the positive impact that they can have on the individual and the company, we are certainly strong advocates of the benefits of apprenticeship schemes."
Director Liam Bailey

The Wirral based digital agency, which specialises in app design, web development and branding to name a few, has recently hired Junior SEO Consultant Mohamed Jama, who aspires to head up the company’s SEO department in the long term.

As part of Maxweb’s ongoing apprenticeship scheme, two of the firm’s previous apprentices, Alice Oldrid and Dan Wilson, have gone on to become senior members of the team.

Director Liam Bailey said: “As a company, we very much believe in developing hard-working and dedicated staff and utilising the skills that exist within the team. Having seen first-hand the positive impact that they can have on the individual and the company, we are certainly strong advocates of the benefits of apprenticeship schemes.

“Our recent appointment of Mohamed has proved to be a great success and he is certainly an excellent fit for Maxweb. With his background in copywriting and market research, we ultimately want to develop Mohamed’s skills so that he can lead on our SEO offering. As part of his day-to-day role, he is perfecting his knowledge of the sector, researching and working hard on aspects of the business including digital marketing, analysing website usage, outreach and email campaigns and social media management to name a few.”

Following the appointment of two apprentices in 2012, Maxweb has seen Alice Oldrid progress to the role of Account Manager, dealing with clients and managing the company’s development and SEO schedule. Dan Wilson was recruited as a Junior Developer and has since been promoted to Lead Developer within the team. Maxweb’s most recent apprenticeship appointment was funded by Liverpool City Council Liverpool Ways To Work ILM Employment Subsidy.

Director Mark Ainsworth added: “In 2012, we were able to offer a duo of apprenticeships and the rewards have been monumental as we have now gained two integral members of staff. Alice originally joined Maxweb as a General Office Administrator and impressed us with her skills and dedication to the role. In the same year, we recruited Dan whose knowledge of our systems and programming languages have earned him the role of Lead Developer. Whilst in employment with us, Dan has learnt to develop mobile apps for both IOS and Android which has proven an integral part of our business offering.

“It is important to us to be able to offer the right candidates an opportunity to shine and with hard-work and dedication, alongside mentoring and training we can help more local Merseyside individuals to realise their potential and create their own success story.”
