LOFT targets city-centre residents with new Northern Quarter showroom in Manchester

City centre move represents first time residential furniture specialist has directly targeted homeowners and tenants rather than landlords and property managers.

LOFT targets city-centre residents with new Northern Quarter showroom in Manchester

"I believe people will be blown away when they come into our showroom and see the quality we provide, the service we offer, and the price-point we deliver."

LOFT, the family-owned residential furnishing service headquartered in Greater Manchester, has opened a new showroom in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. The LOFT Shop, at 26-28 High Street, caters not only to the company’s traditional market of landlords, investors, agents and property managers, but also offers the complete LOFT furnishing service direct to consumers.

The LOFT Shop is the company’s second showroom in Manchester, complementing the existing LOFT HQ in Old Trafford. It will initially employ six staff and will showcase ranges of furniture that reflect the tastes of consumers who live in and around the city’s fashionable, edgy Norther Quarter.

Benjamin Hall, Managing Director of LOFT, said, “Over the past 17 years we have established ourselves as market leaders in the provision of high-quality furniture to the privately rented, purpose-built student accommodation and build-to-rent markets. We have opened our new city centre showroom to build upon this and explicitly open our service up to tenants and homeowners themselves.

“We believe turning a property into a home should be as stress-free as possible. That is just as true for an individual moving into a new flat as it for a landlord, and I believe people will be blown away when they come into our showroom and see the quality we provide, the service we offer, and the price-point we deliver.”

LOFT supplies furniture to clients either as individual items or as tailored furniture packages. All items are delivered, assembled and installed by LOFT, and old, unwanted items are taken away and recycled.

The firm also offers an interior design service, specialising in social spaces, show homes, property staging, and residential and leisure design.

The new showroom is based in a 4,000 sq ft unit on which LOFT has taken an indefinite lease from its owner, a Swedish pension fund. LOFT invested £25,000 in fitting out the property in preparation for its launch.

LOFT currently employs 120 staff nationwide and has turnover of £18 million. It expects the new showroom alone to deliver £350,000 in additional turnover in its first year and by the summer the company plans to have grown its staff to 150.

Mr Hall continued, “I am hugely excited to bring the LOFT brand onto the High Street – literally in this case – and I believe our combination of quality, design, price and service will have a genuinely disruptive effect. I can’t wait to see how customers react and I hope this foray into the city centre will be the first of many around the country.”
