Leading events guide and ticket agent, Skiddle, is benefitting from an influx of enquiries and increased sales as a result of the implementation of an innovative online marketing tool.
The business' 2015 Festivals Finder tool pulls information from its existing festival guide, to help revellers find the event most suited to them, in just a click of a button. The first-of-its-kind online tool was created to avoid festival revellers having to sift through information on hundreds of festivals to find their perfect match.
In the past 12 months, the business has witnessed a 21% uplift in its festival sales and 34% increase in site traffic, and in May this year, Skiddle was named the busiest ticketing website in the UK by independent analytics website, Alexa.
The business now aspires to generate a third of its expected revenue (£6.7m) through festival sales alone in 2015/16, up from a quarter (£3.75m) in 2014/15. It now has a dedicated team of seven managing the festivals side of the business.
Skiddle's online festival guide is the UK's most in-depth and contains information on hundreds of UK and overseas festivals, spanning arts, music, film, beer, family friendly, food, sport, and boutique events. The Festivals Finder tool works alongside the guide, allowing users to narrow down their selection on price, amenities, accommodation, size and artists.
Festival goers can drill down to even the most obscure of details, including whether the festival offers fun fairs, boat parties, extreme sports and fairgrounds, as well as more practical amenities such as luxury loos and camping facilities.
The 2015 Festivals Finder also links up with Facebook, so users are able to filter their results according to where their listed favourite artists and bands are playing.
