Collabco wins delivery of first digital campus in Belgium

"Universities are challenged to deliver the digital campus to the millennial generation on their smartphones, at the swipe of a finger and in their chosen language. myday can do that."
Matt Dunkin, MD, Collabco

Belgian university college vzw Odisee will deliver the first digital campus environment in Belgium with the implementation of myday – a campus-wide digital tool - in both English and Flemish. The new solution from Collabco will deliver the university’s services through one app on the students’ smartphone - providing 11,000 students with access to university resources via the app.

Odisee will also look to deploy the app with prospective students and pre-applicants for use in conjunction with open days – bringing an entirely new audience to the digital campus prior to becoming a full time student.

Via myday, students will be able to locate their timetables, find lectures and access the Virtual Learning Environment, email, social media, library services, computing and printing information and much more. Providing access for prospective students will be a powerful selling tool for the university to demonstrate that it delivers on the promise of a multi-lingual digital campus.

“The work that Collabco is doing in the academic space has been on our radar for some time – we’d identified myday as the digital platform to bring our campuses together– and also to entice new students to the university,” explains Jan Van Calster, ICT servicedesk manager, university college vzw Odisee.

“Being able to deploy the app in both English and Flemish is also pre-requisite of any system as we need to be able to offer that service to our students, staff and anyone joining us for research purposes  - it will fast become the way we communicate with many audiences across the campuses and will deliver opportunities with pre-applicants and alumni.”

The university is the result of a merger between two Flemish university colleges; Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel (HUB) and Katholieke Hogeschool Sint-Lieven (KAHO) and represents one of Belgium’s most dynamic centres of education, research, development and service to the community. They are located in the centre of Belgium on the axis Brussels-Aalst-Ghent-Sint-Niklaas.

Matt Dunkin, managing director, Collabco said: “This is a fantastic win for Collabco as we continue to build our international business and we’re are excited to be working with Odisee as it embraces myday as the foundation of its digital campus.

“Regardless of geography or language, universities and colleges are challenged to deliver the digital campus to the millennial generation on their smartphones, at the swipe of a finger – and in their chosen language. myday can do that – its incredibly quick to implement as it’s in the cloud.

“I look forward to seeing growth in business beyond our own shores.”
